My top first top is actually a protype of one to come. Its made from McCall's 5708 and went together really easily. Hand sewing involved in sewing the tie collar and the little bands on the sleeve. I wanted to eliminate the hand sewing but couldn't figure out how to make it look really neat sewing it by machine.
NOTE: Please bear with me, I've never been a administrator before.

  2. I love everything about this top. Super cute! (BTW, I deleted the post w/my email in it.) The fabric and the tie just hit me in the right spot.

  3. Oh, I thought I deleted it. Glad you like the top. I'm starting the second one now. Cut it last night.

  4. I use my edge stitch foot to do things like the little sleeve bands. I get the inside folded however I want it with a little bit of it extending over the seam where the band and sleeve meet; and then I pin it down on the outside. Then I use my edge stitch foot to either stitch in the ditch or add a little row of topstitching on the band close to the ditch. Does that make sense?

  5. Love this top! The tie around the neck really makes it look dressy.. yet still casual.

  6. Yes Adelaide that makes sense and I think I'll try it on the blouse I'm making now. Thanks!
