This is my second entry in The Month Of Tops. The pattern is Jalie 2805. I chose to make the v-neck this time.
Much like Shelia in her earlier post, I had a busy fabric that needed a simple pattern. All of my knit patterns are Jalie and this is the pattern I felt was the least fussy.
I really love the Jalie patterns. I feel like the fit is perfect and I really love the length. I am long and rarely find shirts that are long enough. They always ride up in the back. I don't have to worry about that with these Jalie tops. It is such a nice feeling to have a top that not only fits well at the top, but is also long enough! That is truly rare for me!
This is the second top I made the same day as the brown one I posted earlier. I hemmed this one Saturday and wore it Sunday. I can definitely see this pattern becoming one I use many times. I just need to figure out exactly what type of fabric I like best!

I agree that busy prints call for simple patterns. But there is nothing ordinary about this top. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have found the perfect pattern! Very very nice.
ReplyDeleteThe simple pattern and the beautiful fabric make a great looking top!
ReplyDeleteLovely top and yes when it comes to a busy print patterns with minimal pieces are best. Really like the print & style of that top.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else simple is best when working with a busy fabric. I do have to say that this blouse is very pretty. I love the design.
