MOT No2

Pattern: Sabrina Woman S1536 (German magazine), model 19, size 40/42

I had to take the back in a bit to prevent the shoulders from slipping to the sides.

I'm going to call this top a muslin and sew it again using a softer fabric to see what the problem with the back truly is. Or not? What do you think? The back definitely needs some changes.

Ciao!
Barbara

  1. I am certainly nor fitting expert, but what about just folding in the back and back facing pattern pieces just a bit to take up the amount of slack you had to make in your adjustment. I've had that happen with tops I've made before and that seemed to work.

  2. I agree with Faye, I often just fold out a strip in the back. If you're worried about the folds around the middle, maybe make the hip a little wider. I have to do that with all my tops. I love this colour, though!

  3. I too agree with Faye. In many patterns I find that I'm quite narrow across the back/shoulders and the pattern is a lot bigger. So I take a tuck down the centre of the pattern to take out some slack, don't forget to adjust the facing too. If you need more width for waist/hips you can just add to the side seams. The style is lovely and so is the colour.

  4. I'm not very good with fitting issues yet so I don't think I can help you there. I love the color and style of the top though.

  7. I love the color and texture as it appears on my computer screen! The neckline is really cute. Another magazine I wish I could get here in the US and understand!
